It is the hardest of the coniferous trees. This material, which is used instead of local tar wood, has very good coloring, dyeing and polishing properties. It is used in the manufacture of all kinds of massive joinery and furniture. It is preferred especially on exteriors due to its water resistance.
It is used on yachts, boats, decks and wet floors in Russia and Scandinavian countries. It has high resistance against water.
When well dried, it can last more than 100 years in water or in humid environments.
