There is no color difference between beech sapwood and heartwood. Its wood is reddish white in color and has mature wood characteristics. In some trees over eighty years old, a more reddish-brown dark banded heartwood is formed in the middle.


Processing properties change in relation to growing conditions and moisture content. It shows moderate resistance to machining in hand tools and machines. It has very good turning properties, and its bending properties are made much better by steaming. Nailing requires pre-drilling. It is easy to stick, color can be given, it accepts polish very well.


It has a wider usage area than other leafy trees. In particular, solid furniture, paneling, sports equipment, toys, bobbins, tool handles, turnery, musical instruments production, plywood, parquet, veneer board, barrel industry, crosser production as fiber and paper wood, charcoal, wood tar, acetic acid production and If it is impregnated, it is used in the construction of sleepers. It is abundant in the Turkish market.
